Artist Statement

By Xiomara Gonzalez

My name is Xiomara, my art work is known as 3XGArt. This mural was inspired by my chihuahua, Spike. The mural is especially important to me as Spike is my everything. The mural symbolizes Spike and I sitting and dazing off into the moon light at peace so far away from reality that we are no longer here but we have drifted into a whimsical world where only love and kindness exist. I hope viewers enjoy the art and remember the special bond we have with our pets. Creating this mural was really special mainly since I had the opportunity to get some of my students and their parents involved. I want to thank everyone who came out in support especially my colleague at PS# 3.
