Jersey City, NJ – The City of Jersey City and the Central Avenue SID Management Corporation would like to welcome “Sole Dreams” to the Jersey City Heights. Located at 344 Central Avenue, the new shoe and clothing store will hold an official grand opening starting at noon this Saturday September 14, 2013. There will be live entertainment by DJ El Commandante and DJ Ricky 3 as well as free balloons for all kids, face painting, and more.
Sole Dreams is a family owned business replacing Nino’s Shoes which has been on Central Avenue for nearly thirty three years. Both are owned by the LoSchiavo family. “In retail, you constantly have to change to keep up with trends,” says owner Marco LoSchiavo. “We had the business of the ‘old Jersey City’, but we needed to attract the ‘new Jersey City’ too.” Marco and his family have invested nearly $100,000 to renovate the commercial space at 344 Central Avenue and rebrand as Sole Dreams. “People seem to love the change, and the big boost in traffic through the door makes it clear,” Marco said.
“Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, providing much-needed jobs and enhancing the quality of life of our community,” said Mayor Steven M. Fulop. “I am pleased to welcome another new business to our city and wish them continued success.”
Heights Councilman Michael Yun will be present at the grand opening ceremony to help welcome Sole Dreams. “The LoSchiavo family has been doing business in Jersey City for three decades. Their dedication to changing with the neighborhood speaks volumes about Jersey City and its business community. They are a great example of successful business people who continue to raise the bar in Jersey City by investing in it.”
