Jersey City, NJ – The Central Avenue Special improvement District Management Corporation is pleased to announce “El Gordo Restaurant” and their delicious Peruvian cuisine has come to Jersey City. They will be open for business starting 11am on Friday, December 23rd at their new location, 291 Central Avenue in the Jersey City Heights.
Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, Councilman Michael Yun, Jersey City Economic Development Corporation, the Hudson County Chamber of Commerce, and the CASID joined El Gordo Restaurant to welcome the latest addition to Jersey City’s growing Restaurant Row during an official ribbon cutting ceremony last week.
The opening of El Gordo Restaurant is thrilling for our main street community,” says Sanford Fishman, CASID President and longtime pharmacist at Bond Drugs. “Most importantly, it is a family owned small business that is growing into Jersey City. They bring more than twenty years’ experience in the restaurant industry and are ready to serve local residents, shoppers, and foodies. They have invested and completely renovated the storefront space at 291 Central Avenue beyond recognition demonstrating a commitment to elevate the dining experience in the shopping district.”
El Gordo Restaurant has served authentic Peruvian cuisine to the tables of multi-cultural families across the Paterson/Passaic area for the past twenty years. The spices, ingredients and love put into their food makes everything on the menu authentic. Customer favorites include Pollo a la Brasa or Lomo Saltado. Exceptional dishes, outstanding quality, and impeccable service hones in on the pillars of why they successfully create a real Peruvian cuisine experience.
We are so excited to be opening our fourth location in Jersey City,” says Lizeth Morales CEO at El Gordo Restaurant. “Everyone here has been so welcoming which confirms we made the right decision to expand into Hudson County. We are ready to take Jersey City’s Restaurant Row up a notch with a new flavor of Peruvian cuisine. Don’t forget to have the green sauce on the side, we are well known for it.”
