Central Avenue Italian Deli Helps Promote Local Independent Film

Jersey City, NJ – The Central Avenue SID Management Corporation is pleased to announce the shopping district will host a meet-and-greet event with the director and actors from the independent film “The Last American Guido.” They will be signing autographs and have copies of the movie available to the public. The two hour event is scheduled to start at noon on Friday August 21st at “Bocelli’s Italian Deli” located at 274 Central Avenue.

“This is a great movie filmed right here in Jersey City,” says Joseph Doyle, a business partner at Bocelli’s. “Vito LaBruno is a good friend and even better movie director and writer. He did a great job putting this independent film together and everyone should go see it if they haven’t already. The main character in the movie, Tommy Losurdo, runs an Italian Deli so hosting the meet-and-greet at Bocelli’s is good fit.”

Director LaBurno and lead actors Mike DiGiacinto and Joe Ferraro will be at the event talking about the movie and the whole filmmaking process. The movie was released in 2014 and featured many well established and local actors. A trailer for the movie is available on YouTube.

“This is the first time in recent memory a Central Avenue business helps promote a big independent film,” says David Diaz, District Manager of the CASID. “Our art scene is only getting bigger and it is great to see small businesses help support the performing arts in Jersey City. Anyone who wants to learn more about making movies or just likes good Italian eats should go to this event.”
