The Central Avenue Special Improvement District is partnering with New Jersey Clean Communities and BagUpNJ to distribute reusable bags to the community on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022 from 11 am-1 pm at Angel Azul Bakery (460 Central Avenue, Jersey City)
Effective May 4, 2022, New Jersey retail, grocery, and food service businesses may not provide or sell single-use plastic carryout bags. In response, the Central Avenue SID is working together with NJCC to distribute bags along with answering questions regarding the NJ State Law.
“Central Avenue has always been proactive with the plastic bag ban. Seven years ago CASID began the annual Reusable Tote Bag Campaign, where CASID businesses sponsor reusable bags and distribute them during the holiday season” said Eddy Gallo, CASID Board Member, and owner of Angel Azul. “This upcoming event is a continued effort of our community to be environmentally friendly” Gallo continued.
