Jersey City, Proud Host of the Barclays PGA Tour PlayoffsJune 2009
The Barclays™ 2009— the first event in the PGA Tour Playoffs for the FedEx Cup—will be held at Liberty National Golf Course in Jersey City from August 24th through August 30th. It is the only event that the PGA has scheduled in New Jersey for 2009. It is expected that 120 of the Tour’s top players will compete, including Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Phil Mickelson, and defending champion Vijay Singh.
Additionally, the Barclays™ tournament officials will give New Jersey and New York charities the chance to participate in TICKETS Fore CHARITY™, a program to improve the quality of life in communities where PGA Tournaments are held.
“This is a great opportunity — a real win-win— for those who want to attend The Barclays and for our local nonprofits,” said Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah Healy. The tickets for the program will be for grounds access Thursday, August 27th through Sunday, August 30th, and will cost $45 for each day. That means for every ticket sold, the participating charity raises $33.75, and First Tee of Metropolitan New York another $11.25.
TICKETS Fore CHARITY may be purchased on-line by visiting www.pgatour.com/tournaments/r027/charity.html or by phoning 201-444-5356.
