Preparing for the second annual Everything Jersey City Festival to be held on Central Avenue in the Heights, Jersey City Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy joined organizers for yesterday's kickoff event.
The festival, which features food, music, and the arts, will take place Saturday, May 16, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., on Central Avenue between Hutton and Congress streets.
Michael Yun, president of the Central Avenue Special Improvement District (CASID) and chairman of the Everything Jersey City Festival Committee, said the festival is about family, fun, and stimulating the Jersey City's economy.
For kids, the festival will have rock climbing, moonwalking and other activities, organizers said.
"I can't think of a better way to showcase our many outstanding artists, musicians businesses and community organizations," Healy said in a statement.
Applications to exhibit at the festival can be downloaded at www.jcheights.com or obtained by calling (201) 656-1366.
